The Delonghi espresso machine is known for its reasonable price while still producing a great cup of espresso. This compact machine is filled with quality pieces including the stainless steel housing with plastic accents that looks more expensive than it is.

The self priming pump is capable of maintaining pressure at 15 bars. The boiler is made out of stainless steel and can hold 35 ounces of water. The heating unit is a strong 1,000 watt element. The brewing temperature has been tested to be consistently between 175 and 180F. The temperature is controlled from a preset dial that is easily seen and operated on the front of the machine. There is also a frothing wand that is mounted on the side that makes steaming the milk easy.

The EC155 comes with 2 separate portafilter baskets. One is for the more expensive premade ESE pods. The other is for freshly ground beans that need to be tapped and packed. This machine can only accommodate demitasse cups. The manual states that the machine is at full operating temperature in just over a minute. This gives the experienced as well as the beginner time to pack the portafilter basket with coffee. Once the portafilter is in place this little machine has your espresso ready in less than 30 seconds. If steam if needed, the dial can be turned to the left and after 40 seconds there is sufficient steam to use for any need without running short.
